5 Ways To Measure An Audience.

Online Surveys.
Pros = It is quick and easy, you dont have to do it if you dont want to and brings people onto the certain site to bring customers.
Cons = People wont do it if they dont have the internet, People wont do it if they dont want to, Some people might get confused with the idea of going online to do a survey.

Phone Surveys.
Pros = You dont have to do it if you dont want to, The data will be going straight to the people making the survey, Quick and easy.
Cons = People might not give the correct information, Time consuming for the surveyors, People might not do it if you call them.

People Meter.
Pros = You get the exact information like age and sex of the person, People have to do it if you put it in their house.
Cons = Might be expensive and its alot more space consuming then using the computer you already have.

Polls.
Pros = If its on internet it will attract people to the site and if its text it gets a good variety of people.
Cons = Relies on people to do it themselves, and might cost money for people to text through.

TV Competitions.
Pros = Shows what type of people watch that show at the time, attracts people to the show.
Cons = People might not be able to take it cause they might be at work etc.

Breakfast.

Breakfast is a morning show that airs at 6.30am on Monday - Friday and 7am on Saturday morning. Breakfast is a morning show that covers the news over the past day or two, sports and all other stuff to attract all different audiences. The show has 4 main presenters (Paul Henry, Pippa Wetzell, Peter Williams and Tamati Coffey). The show also does polls and surveys to get the publics opinion on certain aspects of the news.

The Green Mile.

I thought The Green Mile was an AMAZING movie. The movie kept me on the edge of my seat because alot happens in the movie and it has alot of twists and turns. Even though this movie is long and often dark, it kept my attention because the storyline is quite simple and i like these types of movies. John Coffey is an influential character in this because he shows that even though he didnt commit the crime that he still wanted to die in the electric chair because there was to much pain in this world.

Media Since I Have Been Taking It.

Since i have been taking media this year, I have learnt a bit but not that much because i havent been going to the lessons organised and when I was I wasnt working well and i would muck around and disrupt the class. If I hadnt mucked around during class I would have learnt about VALS and TAGS in depth, I would be able to describe all the different aspects of films, I would be able to write about the plot in depth etc. When I come back to school this term I will make different decisions in class and I will work.

Watch 2 Films Previously Unseen.

How To Train Your Dragon.

How to train your dragon is a animated kids film that was brought out in 2010. It was a hit in the movies with it being around during holidays. The movie takes place in the land of Berk and the movie involves the Viking tribe and the Dragons. The Vikings and the Dragons are in a war that has been going on for years, the war started because the Dragons had to capture the sheep from the Vikings for their leader ( Kind of like a queen bee) and the Vikings didnt want their sheep to be stolen. I think that this movie holds the audience because it doesnt have a dull moment and the animation is simply AMAZING!! It probably wont hold an audience thats going to see a soppy animation though as this movie has a bit of action and isnt sad. This also appealed to me because i was surprised with how well this movie was animated. It has a quite simple storyline because it sticks to one plot. Since they kept the plot simple it makes you notice everything else in the film. The movie is written like it is to appeal to all audiences as it has some action, comedy, romance and drama.

Ninja Assassin.

Ninja Assassin is a martial arts movie about ninjas and martial arts. Its plot is quite complex with many things happening at once. The movie might appeal to people that like fast paced movies. It has alot of confrontations and it has a climax. The movie also has good special effects but some of the stuff is O.T.T and it wouldnt happen in real life. The movie is quite dark and hard to follow as most of the movie is in the shadows and the people are dressed in black. Since the plot is quite complex it takes your focus away from other aspects of the film because you are just trying to figure out what is going on. It is written as it is so it can attract certain audiences and keep you watching since the movie doesnt slow down

People meter in my own words

A people meter is used to get data on what people are viewing. The people meter is a small thing the size of a paperback book. It records the age and sex of the person viewing the show in each household it is in and records what shows they watch at each time. If the people meter is turned on and the person doesnt put in their information the people meter box flashes to tell the person to input their information.

People Meter

A people meter is a tool used to measure the viewing habits of TV and Cable audiences.
The people meter is a "box", about the size of a paperback book. The box is hooked up to each television set and is accompanied by a remote control unit. Each family member in a sample household is assigned a personal "viewing button". It identifies each household members age and sex. If the TV is turned on and the viewer doesnt identify themselves, the meter flashes to remind them. Additional buttons on the People Meter enable guests to participate in the sample by recording their age, sex and viewing status into the system.
